MAUI’S ISLAND MUSIC STATION, NATIVE 92.5 HITS THE AIRWAVESPacific Radio Group expands its original Island radio format to Maui with the launch of Native 92.5, Maui’s Island Music Station.Ekolu, Fiji, Bob Marley, Natural Vibes and Kohomua, are just a few of the many talented musicians that are featured on the Island CHR (Contemporary Hit Radio) play list. Native 92.5 Programming and Music Director Kawika (a.k.a. “KawikaVeeka”) Duey said the station draws on the positive energy, interaction with its listeners and current elements that are reflective of our Island lifestyle. From Hawaii’s island music to World reggae, Native 92.5 is a melting pot for local talent featuring the latest happenings in the island music scene. “Even though it’s a difficult time for the state and local economy, we’re well positioned to move forward,” said Chuck Bergson, President and CEO of Pacific Radio Group. “No one knows the Hawaiian Music business better than our staff, programming team, and on-air personalities,” said Bergson, noting the success of flagship station KPOA 93.5 FM on Maui, and KAPA 100.3 FM on the Big Island. “Native 92.5 expands our reach to those who take pride in the home-grown talent of Hawaii,” said Duey. Native 92.5, Maui’s Island Music Station, replaces Pacific Radio Group’s former X-92.5 modern rock station. The switch went into effect at on Friday May 1, 2009. A complete line up of station talent and on-air personalities will be provided in a future news release. |
